Jim’s company was also responsible for virtually
all of the sound and musical equipment in the television shows, "Get To
The Heart," "Get Happy, The Partridge Family Story," "Sinatra," "Elvis,"
"The Temptations," "Tony Bennett; 80th Birthday Celebration," and
"American Dreams."
History For Hire has provided props for Music Videos for the following
artists: The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Ringo, Madonna, k.d.lang, Rob Zombie,
Black Eyed Peas, Bruce Springsteen, Marilyn Manson, Incubus, OutKast,
Green Day, Kid Rock, Snoop Dogg, My Chemical Romance, Weezer, Jennifer
Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Rod Stewart, Smashing Pumpkins, Tom Petty &
The Heartbreakers, R.E.M., Brian Setzer, Sheryl Crow, Faith Hill, Janet
Jackson, Melissa Etheridge, Steve Winwood, Fall Out Boy, Miley Cyrus,
the Jonas Brothers, Rascal Flats and Elvis Costello. The
company has also done props for a number of album covers, as well as
four Rolling Stone magazine covers.
With a showroom of over one hundred thousand props, including hundreds
of amplifiers, guitars, drums, keyboards and microphones, Jim chose as
his personal collection U.K. Vox amplifiers from the JMI-era. Over the
years, he has amassed the largest and most complete collection of this
rare equipment, which is displayed in The Vox Museum. Collecting Vox
amplifiers and maintaining them continues to be a labor of love for Jim.
